Kenya Forest Service is a corporate body established under the Forest Conservation and Management Act no 34 of 2016 (henceforth referred to as the Act). The Act which was operationalized on 31st March 2017, gave the Service’s mandate as “to provide for the development and sustainable management, including conservation and rational utilization of all forest resources for the socioeconomic development of the country and for connected purposes”.
Entry Requirements :
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Water Engineering or Quantity Survey or a related field from a recognized university
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Fulfils the requirements of Chapter six of the constitution

An officer at this level shall report to a senior officer.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing of concept notes and project proposals;
- Undertaking of project feasibility studies;
- Designing and developing appropriate and cost-effective models for water and sanitation infrastructure;
- Technical planning and design of forest roads infrastructure;
- Preparing of technical specifications and project tender documents.
- Coordinating digitization of drawings and management of plans, records, storage and retrieval.
- Preparing bill of quantities and detailing of civil works drawings for water and sanitation infrastructure
- Supervising development of forest roads infrastructure, management and issuance of advice on contractual issues;
- Monitoring existing forest infrastructure;
- Implementation of appropriate capacity development of field officers as may be requested;
- Carrying out periodic assessment of forest infrastructure;
- Assist in preparing bill of quantities and detailing of civil works drawings for water and sanitation infrastructure.
- Supervising development of forest roads infrastructure, management and issuance of advice on contractual issues;
- Monitoring existing forest infrastructure;
- Implementation of appropriate capacity development of field officers as may be requested;
- Carrying out periodic assessment of forest roads infrastructure;
- Maintenance and management of forest infrastructure works within area of jurisdiction;
- Promote public values and principles
