Mwiba Holdings Limited is a registered Tanzanian Company under Companies Ordinance (Cap. 212) and a leading Hospitality company with its Operations in Arusha, Meatu Simiyu and Mara Regions. We are currently looking for two (2) Habitat and Infrastructure Assistants to be part of our Team and the position will be based at Maswa-Simiyu Region

Role’s Summary: The Habitat and Infrastructure Assistant must be knowledgeable in infrastructure management as well as requisite skills in alien invasive management and eradication by ensuring the protection of wildlife and their habitats.

KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Practical experience in bush clearing and a sound understanding of road rehabilitation and development.
  • Good understanding of infrastructure development.
  • Conduct regular infrastructure assessment and identify areas for improvement
  • Advise management on developing comprehensive infrastructure plans that align with company
  • objectives.
  • Propose solutions to address infrastructure challenges and promote sustainable development within the concessions.
  • Ensure maintenance of infrastructures for efficient and sustainable operations throughout all seasons.
  • Ensures that the projects/road rehabilitation do not harm the habitat or any other person.
  • Check those human activities (economic, sports and leisure) on roads, rivers, and other places if they respect environmental standards .
  • Ability to identify any infrastructure that is in need of improvement, such as roads, water sources. Identify and record areas of concern relating to infrastructure and report the need to improve.

PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL DETAILS Education:

  • Bachelor Degree in environmental management or any related field.
  • Proven proficiency in computerized applications to Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointJand basic Google Suite.

Experience and Skills:

  • Potential and qualified candidates are encouraged to apply GIS experience will be advantageous
  • Knowledge in applicable legislation pertaining to vegetation and alien invasive management. Knowledge of indigenous plants and the identification thereof.
  • Knowledge of ecology and ecological systems and the effect of infrastructure.
  • Must be able to maintain physical stamina to personally lead their area of responsibility. Assertiveness, patience and good organizational skills.
  • Have the ability to work through periods of high demand and be ready to work after hours or on weekends.
