JOB OVERVIEW:
To perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of plumbing systems, water infrastructure, pump systems, sanitation facilities, utility services, and support plant operations to ensure safe and efficient facility performance.
KEY DUTIES:
- Install, maintain, and repair water supply systems, drainage systems, pipelines, valves, taps, sanitary fittings, and associated plumbing infrastructure.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance activities on plumbing systems and utilities.
- Support operation and maintenance of water treatment and wastewater systems.
- Assist in pump house maintenance including pumps, motors, valves, and pipelines.
- Inspect systems for leaks, blockages, pressure issues, and equipment failures.
- Support cold room and utility maintenance activities where required.
- Conduct routine inspections and report abnormalities.
- Read and interpret plumbing drawings and technical manuals.
- Perform installation and repair of UPVC, PVC, HDPE, galvanized, stainless steel, and other piping systems.
- Support fabrication and modification work related to plumbing systems.
- Maintain hygiene standards in food processing and production areas.
- Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and maintenance teams.
- Maintain tools, spare parts, and work areas in good condition.
- Observe occupational health, safety, and environmental requirements.
- Respond promptly to breakdowns and emergency maintenance activities
- Documentation and management of site wastewater systems
- Support Hatchery aeration systems
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 2–5 years practical experience in plumbing or industrial maintenance.
- Experience in industrial facilities, farms, food processing, or manufacturing environments is an added advantage
- Basic understanding of Environment, Health and Safety systems /procedures.
REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS.
- Basic knowledge in CAD drawings and CMMS systems.
- Must not be Aquaphobic and able to or learn swimming.
- Certificate in Plumbing, Water Engineering, or related fields
- Trade test certification in plumbing is an added advantage
