The Accounts Trainee is responsible for assisting in various accounting tasks and gaining practical experience in the field. The role of an accounts trainee is to support the accounts team in preparing financial statements, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with financial reviews. They work closely with accountants to ensure that financial information is accurate and up-to-date.
Detailed Job Responsibilities
• Collaborate with the finance team to gather necessary data and information for the preparation of financial statements.
• Assist in analyzing financial data and preparing reports to support decision-making processes.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
• Verify the accuracy of entered data by comparing it to supporting documentation.
• Maintain organized records of financial transactions for future reference.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded.
• Assist in preparing journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries as required.
• Participate in the preparation of financial reports for management review.

Education & Work Experience Requirements
• Must be a registered ZICA member
• At least a ZICA Technician holder or equivalent
• Knowledge of general ledger functions
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office i.e., Word and Excel
