Your Impact:
- As an Advisor, Safety and Sustainability Governance, you will work to administer and support Enterprise-led safety and sustainability risk management programs at Newmont’s operating sites in Ghana. Your work will help drive continuous improvement and strengthen our governance approach to functional risk management across the business unit and operations.
As Part Of Our Team You Will:
- Support risk management processes by coordinating activities such as functional risk assessments and reporting.
- Support site teams to undertake risk verification activities in accordance with Enterprise-led programs.
- Administer and support Enterprise-led assurance programs and activities within the Business Unit.
- Track and report on assurance activities, other compliance requirements, regulatory interactions, and non-compliance issues.
- Provide training and support to site teams on risk management programs.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen governance frameworks.
Your Training, Skills and Experience Checklist:
Formal Qualification (including Professional Registrations):
- A Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Engineering, Business, Geoscience, Finance, IT, or related field is desirable.
Additional Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of management systems, risk frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
Experience:
- Experience in safety, sustainability, or governance roles (preferred in the resources industry).
Problem Solving Ability:
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and data management skills.
Technical Skills:
- Primary skills include coordinating governance systems and processes at the operational level, in support of Business Units (BUs).
- Proficiency required in the application of management systems elements.
- The role also necessitates ability to educate and support operational teams, including the ability to carry out specific activities using appropriate tools and processes to achieve defined business outcomes.
