Responsible for the design and implementation of AALI agricultural programmes, supporting agribusiness development and sustainable enterprise growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design and day-to-day implementation of AALI agribusiness and enterprise development activities.
- Conduct Rapid Market Assessments (RMA) to identify viable enterprise opportunities and continuously scan for emerging market trends.
- Promote best agribusiness practices, with a focus on women and youth inclusion in value chains.
- Support resource mobilization through concept note and proposal development.
- Coordinate assigned projects, ensuring timely delivery, reporting, and impact tracking.
- Develop action plans and strategies for successful project delivery, identifying strategic partners.
- Engage with stakeholders to secure quality agribusiness inputs and services.
- Lead the formation of farmer producer groups/cooperatives for enhanced market access.
- Collaborate with the crop production team to support smallholder farmers transitioning into micro-enterprises.
- Strengthen rural financial literacy and linkages between producers and financial institutions.
- Provide coaching and mentorship for startups and growing agribusinesses.
- Document success stories, case studies, and technical reports to support knowledge sharing.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Sciences, Agricultural Economics, Economics (with specialization in enterprise development and/or marketing).
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in entrepreneurial development, small-scale enterprise support, and agricultural marketing, particularly in rural and smallholder contexts.

- Experience working with government bodies, financial institutions, private sector, and civil society organizations in Uganda.
