Key Performance Areas
- Coordinate aircraft movements between Air Traffic Services units and other airport operating units by passing, receiving and updating flight-related data.
- Prepare and update flight progress strips in order to assist the Air Traffic Controller manage air traffic efficiently.
- Receive and dispatch all ATS messages. Record aircraft movements on the log sheets.
- Receive in-coming phone calls and send out going phone calls on behalf of the Air Traffic Controller and immediately refer calls of distress nature to his superior
- File all processed aircraft movement log sheets, flight progress strips and flight plans for future reference.
- Broadcast Meteorological Information (METAR/SPECI) NOTAMS and all relevant notices/information using Aerodrome Traffic Information System (ATIS).
- Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.
Qualification
- Grade 12 with full School Certificate or G.C.E ‘O’ Level with a minimum of five (credit) or better which must include English language, Mathematics Geography and one Science subject.
- Aerodrome, Approach or Area Control Certificate.
- University Degree in Business, Engineering and Management related fields will be an added advantage.
