Convenings are central to The Rockefeller Foundation’s mission. Through leveraging their reputation, knowledge, and networks, the Foundation creates an environment where ideas can flourish and actions can be realized. Annually, the Bellagio Center hosts around 1,000 individuals in 60 convenings and 120 month-long residencies, shaping history.
The legacy of the Bellagio Center is profound. It has birthed initiatives such as Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance, and the Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN), among others. These success stories highlight the transformative power of collaboration in driving sustainable social change.
Participants in the Bellagio Center Convening Program receive comprehensive support, including assistance with convening strategy and design, travel support for eligible participants, ground transportation from Milan to the Bellagio Center, a dedicated on-site convening lead, as well as lodging, meals, and technical support.
The 2025 program focuses on three main themes:
1. Addressing Climate Change: Solutions spanning energy, health, food, financial systems, and policy domains.
2. Building Vibrant, Connected, and Resilient Societies: Initiatives that foster interconnected and resilient communities.
3. General Open Call: Convenings addressing diverse issues with compelling charitable purposes.
