The Artisan, Boilermaker will be responsible for the overall repair, design, modification of any steel works according to approved and required specifications

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure to always put safety first when carrying any given task.
• Complete applicable JSA before carrying out assigned tasks
• Must adhere to all relevant safety procedures including wearing the correct PPE for every given task.
• Make sure all cutting, welding and grinding equipment is certified and safe to work.
• Make sure daily inspections are done on equipment and tools.
• Report any defective equipment or tools to direct supervisor.
• Ensure that all welding, grinding and cutting jobs are done as required by the Foreman or relevant persons and done at high standard.
• Obtain relevant training like rigging and working at heights and ensure all applicable compliances are up to date
• Always keep the area clean and safe from sparks and flames.
• Assist in maintaining the availability of the fleet through effective preventative maintenance procedures.
• Take reasonable precautions as stipulated to minimize hazards to other personnel and equipment during the course of the work
• Provide feedback to the management on issues identified, progress of jobs and planned work.
• Other duties as instructed by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of a Grade Twelve (Grade 12) Certificate
• Craft Certificate from a recognized institute

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 3 years work experience in the respective field
• Basic boilermaker skills will be an added advantage.
