Overall Job Purpose
- The Incumbent will be required to safely execute fleet maintenance work according to the prescribed standards while ensuring the safety of self and others. Will be Responsible for all related Mechanical & Electrical repairs on Medium vehicles, cranes & light vehicles etc.
Specific Job Responsibility
The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include;
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical problems with and without using provided Electronic Scanners/Diagnostic tools.
- Repairing and servicing all heavy equipment products within the established standards.
- Completing preventive maintenance such as, engine tune-ups, oil changes, and replacing filters.
- Lubricating equipment in accordance with established procedures and charts.
- Repair all equipment according to manufacturer specifications on Electrical & Mechanical.
- Maintaining vehicle functional condition by listening to operator complaints.
- Completing work order closure sheets
- Replacing parts and components.
- Maintaining vehicle records by recording service and repairs.
- Checking fan belts, hoses, wiper blades, radiators and batteries, and other safety equipment
- Verifying vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives.
- Maintaining excellent customer relations through frequent communication.
- Preparing accurate service and repair reports in a timely manner.
- Complying with state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards
- Be actively involved in daily housekeeping
- Any Other Duties, as per instruction from Direct Line Supervisor.

- Proven ability to maintain, repair, wire, and install auto electrical components including electrical harnesses, starter motors, alternators, valves, solenoids

Experience required to perform in this job
- A minimum of 3 years relevant experience as a qualified Artisan HER/Auto Electrician
Qualifications
- Grade 12 certificate with 5 O’Levels
- Craft Certificate in Heavy Equipment Repair/Auto Electrical from a recognized institution
- A member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia (EIZ)
- Valid Silicosis certificate
- Valid Driver’s license
- All qualification must be certified by ZAQA
