The School of Law, Economics and Government is inviting applications to fill one (1) post of Assistant Lecturer/Lecturer/Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor in the Department of Private Law.
- Applicants for the post of Assistant Lecturer must hold a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Upper Second-Class from a recognized University;
- For the post of Lecturer, applicants must in addition to holding a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Upper Second-Class and a Master’s Degree in Law (LLM) from recognised universities;
- For the post of Senior Lecturer, applicants must in addition to holding a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Upper Second-Class and a Master’s Degree in Law (LLM) have a good record of publication in their field of expertise; and
- For the post of Associate Professor/Professor, applicants must in addition to holding a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) Upper Second-Class degree and a Master’s Degree in Law (LLM) also have a PhD from a recognized University and a good record of publication and research in their field of expertise
Duties & Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities shall include:
- Teaching private law courses and currently the need is in the following courses;
- the Law of Business organizations,
- Labor Law and,
- Intellectual Property
- Undertaking research and consultancy work;
- Participating in community outreach activities;
- Supervising undergraduate and postgraduate student projects;
- Participating in all academic and professional activities of the Department;
- Initiating research projects;
- Initiating and participating in resource mobilization activities; and
- Carrying out any duties as may be assigned by the Head of the Department and the Executive Dean from time to time.
Applications should include a detailed Curriculum Vitae with names of three (3) traceable referees, certified copies of relevant certificates, a statement of the candidate’s teaching and research agenda, and where applicable, samples of publications.
