Key Duties of the Post/Key Results Areas
- Receive patients, register admissions, discharge patients and record deaths.
- Carry out antenatal care with emphasis of identifying high risk cases and refer them to Doctors.
- Provide care during labour with emphasis of keeping proper records, use of drugs and prevention of complications to mother and baby.
- Provide care during puerperium with emphasis on prevention of infection and advise on breast feeding and infant nutrition.
- Participate in bedside nursing procedures as a member of the caring team.
- Participate in Doctors ward rounds.
- Prepare patients for meals and participate in serving them.
- Keep patients comfortable and ensure a healthy environment.
- Participate in research activities.
- Impart knowledge and skills to students and staff.
- Adhere to the relevant Codes of Conduct and Ethics.
- Compile daily ward reports and hands over.
- Manage and account for allocated resources.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
- Provide care in reproductive health clinics for women.
- QualificationsÂ
- Diploma in Midwifery (URM)
