Maintain a safe and healthy school environment and ensuring compliance with fhe school health policies and regulations.
2. Roles and Responsibilities
a) Student Health Care
Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff for minor injuries and illnesses.
Assist in administering medications and treatments as prescribed by a physician and directed by the School Nurse.
Monitor and care for students with chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies). Support the School Nurse in implementing individualized health care plans (IHPs). b) Health Education and Awareness
Educate students on basic hygiene practices, healthy lifestyle habits, and disease
prevention.
Assist in organizing health awareness programs, such as vaccination drives or mental
health workshops. c) Record-Keeping and Documentation
Maintain accurate and up-to-date health records for students, including immunization
records and incident reports.
Document all health-related incidents, treatments, and medications administered.
Ensure confidentiality of all student health information in compliance with data
protection laws. d) Health Screenings and Monitoring Support the School Nurse in conducting routine health screenings (e.g., vision, hearing, etc).
Observe and report any noticeable changes in students’ health or behavior to the School Nurse. e) Emergency Preparedness
Assist in preparing and maintaining emergency medical kits and supplies. Participate in emergency drills and ensure readiness to respond to health crises. f) Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with the School Nurse, teachers, parents, and other staff to address health
concerns.
Notify parents or guardians of health issues or emergencies as per school protocols. g) Administrative Support
Schedule and coordinate appointments for health checks and consultations.
Assist in managing the health office, including inventory of medical supplies and
equipment.
3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Timeliness: Prompt response to health-related incidents and emergencies.
Student Support: Number of students effectively treated for minor health issues.
Record Accuracy: Maintain up-to-date and error-free health records.
Awareness Initiatives: Participation in organizing at least two health awareness
programs per term.
Compliance: Adherence to health protocols, medication administration guidelines, and data confidentiality regulations.
Parent Satisfaction: Positive feedback from parents regarding communication and
care provided.
Response Time: Average resolution time for medical support requests (e.g., within
24 hours).
User Satisfaction: Positive feedback from staff and students on medical support and
services.
Asset Management: Accurate inventory of medical supplies with minimal
unaccounted items.
Resource Management: Effective adherence to medical and safety protocols.
Professional Growth: Participate in continuous professional development term
sessions.
Community Contributions: Involvement in school-wide activities, events, or outreach
programs.
Policy Adherence: Compliance with school policies and procedures.
Extra-Curricular Participation: Contribute to clubs, sports, or non-academic programs.

Team Goals: Contribution to department-level or school-wide objectives. 4. Qualification, Skills and Knowledge
Qualifications:
Diploma in nursing, first aid or a related field from a reputable institution.
Experience in pediatric care, school health services, or a similar setting (preferred).
First aid and CPR certification (mandatory).
Must have scored in your core subjects a Credit and a Principal pass at your “O” and
“A” level respectively.
Possess at least a minimum of 5 years of distinguished nursing experience
Experience gained by working in a busy commercial health facility. Core Competencies:
Basic understanding of first aid, emergency care, and chronic condition management.
Ability to interact compassionately and professionally with students, parents, and
staff.
Ensure precision in documenting health records and administering medications.
Manage multiple tasks effectively, including scheduling and maintaining supplies.
Clearly convey health-related information to non-medical personnel.
Collaborate effectively with the School Nurse and other staff members.
Technical Competencies:
Knowledge of first aid and CPR (certification preferred).
Familiarity with school health policies, medication administration, and medical
terminology.
