Qualifications
The Automotive Mechanic Must Have:
- In-depth Knowledge of Vehicle Diagnostic Equipment and Mechanical Systems
- Ability to work effectively and communicate with superiors, subordinates, and customers.
- Knowledge of OSHA and MSDS (material safety data sheet) precautions.
- Knowledge of tools, equipment and procedures used in the general overhaul, repairs, and maintenance of automotive equipment.
- Knowledge of principles of internal combustion engines.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
- Makes arithmetic calculations quickly and accurately
Qualifications Requirements for the Automotive Mechanic are:
- Grade Twelve (12) Certificate, Automotive Technician or Craft certificate, Valid Driver’s License
- 3 Years of Automotive experience in the trade which may include an apprenticeship and/or applicable vocational training or any equivalent combination of training and experience
- Experience in Automotive Equipment, Maintenance and Repair
- Experience working in an FMCG Industry is an added advantage

Automotive Mechanic
Yalelo seeks to hire an experienced and eager Automotive Mechanic responsible for dismantling, assembly, maintaining and repairing all automotive machinery and vehicles. The Successful Candidate will additionally engage in the maintenance, repair, overhaul, and servicing of a wide variety of automotive, including gasoline, electric, hybrid and natural gas powered, and/or heavy-duty diesel equipment, refrigerated trucks, gensets and forklifts
The Right Fit candidate will:
- Conduct scheduled maintenance on automotive machinery, systems, and heavy-duty machinery
- Assemble mechanical components according to specifications.
- Examine (automotive) machines and oversee diagnostic tests to determine anomalies
- Design a plan of action for all maintenance tasks and upgrades for all units in production
- Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records for all units in production
- Monitor inventory and order new parts when necessary.
- Offer consultation on maintenance and preventative procedures to boats and heavy-duty machinery
- Perform vehicle Assessments using checklist and alert clients on issues that will prohibit their vehicles from passing inspections.
- Conduct daily, weekly inspections and checks and lubrication on all assets.
- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
