The Behaviour Change Field Facilitator will support the implementation of GBV Prevention interventions at district level. In fulfilment of her/his duties, Behaviour Change Field Facilitator will work closely with the Ministry of Women Affairs and various stakeholders in public, private and NGO sectors. The incumbent will compile activity reports and report to the Behaviour Change Programme Coordinator.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITES
Program management:
- Oversee the implementation of all GBV Demand Creation activities
- Advocate with traditional, religious, political, administrative and other leaders in the district on issues of GBV prevention and reporting.
- Participate in district consultative meetings in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Women Affairs, Social Services, National AIDS council and other relevant stakeholders.
- Plan, budget and facilitate district level advocacy meetings and capacity building of community leaders as well as District stakeholders and community volunteers
- Ensure gender mainstreaming into all major community events.
- Manage and account for all program resources at district level -program finances, assets and human resources
Team management:
- Oversee and guide the recruitment and training of District level community volunteers
- Supervise, Engage, lead and influence the growth of the Graduate intern and program driver
Reporting:
- Compilation and timely submission of weekly and monthly reports
- Participate in the consolidation of quarterly reports
Program documentation
- Design IEC materials for use in local community development to expand program impact
- Tracking and development of evidence-based documentation
KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
- A Degree in Development Studies any Social Sciences degree or related fields.
- Three years’ experience working in community development.
- Experience working in working at grassroots level, engaging different stakeholders
- Sound knowledge and understanding of the Gender discourse
- Experience in multi-sectoral development approaches;
- Community mobilization skills and the ability to interact with district leadership;
- Hands on experience working with decentralized structures
- Ability to respect and relate to people of different ethics and culture.
- Ability to solve problems, complete tasks in a timely, cost effective way.
- Clean Class 4 drivers’ license.
