- Safe operation of both Down the Hole(DTH) and Rotary Drills to ensure equipment operates reliably and that no damages arise
- Pr-start inspection of equipment to identify any requirements for maintenance or repair
- Efficient operation of Drill Rig in both primary and secondary drilling to ensure target penetration rates and fuel consumption volumes are achieved in different rock formations
- Inspection of condition of drill bits, rods, hammer etc to ensure the rock tool string is timely replaced
- Participate in collection of drilling samples, hole marking, explosive cord tie up, feed of explosives in blast holes and other blasting related activities
- Participate in maintenance and repair of equipment in collaboration with maintenance personnel and routine washing of equipment
- Completion of drill rig performance sheets, pr-start logbooks and other required documentation
- Comply with the necessary safety and environmental requirements associated with Blast-hole Drill Rigs and explosives handling
Requirements
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate
- Certificate of competence from OEM Drill Rig trainers
- Minimum 3 years of operating experience with similar Drill Rigs
