Duties and Responsibilities
Working with the Senior Building Officer Regional Office to develop and implement a robust monitoring and investigation system for all buildings
Assisting the Senior Building Officer- Regional Office in developing inspection checklists that would be used by Building Control Officers for on-going construction sites
Participating in the inspection and assessment of the works of the Building Committees to ensure compliance with the Building Control Act, Building Regulations and the Code
Participating in investigations of building accidents related with reports prepared
Providing clients with clear and consistent technical advice to strengthen building control initiatives
Providing technical expertise and to convey information and manage community expectations about responsible building practices
Carrying out competence and capacity building of Building Control Officers
Generating periodic reports
Performing any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor or other mandated authority.
- Academic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Architecture, Civil/Structural, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or Quantity Surveying.
- Registration: Must be registered with the ERB and hold a valid practicing license.
- Experience: At least four years of relevant working experience, with two years in the government or a reputable organization.
- Competencies: Knowledge of the legal and policy framework for building control and regulation in Uganda.
