Your responsibilities
Identify and track relevant upcoming funding opportunities (private and institutional donors) through donor funding intelligence gathering and nurturing partner relationships; develop and maintain tools, guidelines, templates for donor intelligence information.
Lead preparatory actions for anticipated funding opportunities including identification of relevant partners (INGOs, NNGOs, Universities, research actors, line Ministries etc.), preparing teaming agreements and development of winning strategies.
In collaboration with Head of Program Implementation, Heads of Projects and Communicationsteam, facilitate donors’ and potential partners’ visits to WHH SSD operating areas, showcasing the achievements, impact and areas requiring additional funding.

Provide oversight of and contribution to technical design, drafting management and other sections of the proposal both in advance of the solicitation and after solicitation.
In collaboration with HoPDQS and MEAL experts, lead the design, preparation, organization, and implementation of project identification studies (needs, vulnerability, feasibility, climate risk, resilience vulnerability, conflict assessments etc.).
Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors, including individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies.
Facilitate program budget development for new proposals ensuring maximum cost recovery and alignment of the budget to the donor budgeting guidelines.
Your profile
Master’s degree in international development, international relations, or related field, especially in the fields of agriculture, business administration, food systems, communications, project planning.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and developing winning proposals for institutional donors in the aid sector in a large scale Country Office, preferably in a conflict or post-conflict context outside of the country of residence.
Familiarity with the South Sudan context is a strong advantage.
USAID, EU, GIZ, BMZ, World Bank, African Development bank, KfW donor experience would be an asset.
Sound knowledge of programming principles and concepts, including cross-cutting approaches (gender, protection, climate resilience, peace etc.).
Proven relationship building skills and ability to work collaboratively and effectively in cross-cultural settings and with a wide variety of organizations by fostering open communication.
Strong coordination, organization skills, system and critical thinking and analysis; solution-oriented attitude
Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities, strong attention to detail.
Analytical skills and ability to comprehend political sensitivity in Program development.
Revise and roll out resource mobilization strategy aligned with WHH SSD strategy 2023 – 2026 with more focus on expanding the recovery and development portfolio of WHH SSD.
Readiness to receive necessary vaccinations for working in Welthungerhilfe’s programme countries.
Excellent communication skills, including fluent spoken and written English; German and/or Arabic language skills would be an asset.
