Key Responsibilities
- Project Management:
- Develop a detailed quality improvement project (QIP) plan, including timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the antimicrobial optimization project.
- Ensure adherence to project objectives and institutional goals
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work closely with healthcare providers, pharmacists, microbiologists, infection control teams, and administrative staff across the network to realize goals to the QIP
- Facilitate regular meetings to share updates, discuss challenges, and refine strategies about the QIP
- Engage stakeholders to secure buy-in and ensure sustainable implementation of the intervention.
- Participate in collaborative grant proposals with other CAMO-Net site staff (participation in grant writing).
- Education and Training:
- Develop and deliver training sessions or educational materials on antimicrobial stewardship principles in relation to the QIP.
- Promote awareness about the antimicrobial optimization project being implemented on site.
- Implementation of Quality Improvement Interventions:
- Attend a week-long virtual induction programme at the Infectious Diseases Institute, Makerere University, at the start of the programme.
- Complete an online course related to their theme of interest within the first month.
- Complete a minimum of four courses from the virtual learning platform within two months.
- Develop and implement a quality improvement project related to one of the three CAMO-Net themes.
- Participate in peer-to-peer learning sessions at their partner hubs and develop an individual evaluation exercise for their project.
- Presentation of findings to local and international scientific conferences either by abstract, oral presentation or poster.
- Write and submit a manuscript about their project to a peer-reviewed journal.
- Any other responsibilities assigned to you by your immediate supervisor.
- Reporting and Dissemination:
- Prepare and present project findings and recommendations to institutional leadership and relevant committees.
- Contribute to the development of publications or presentations for academic and professional forums.
Academic Qualifications
- •PhD is an added advantage •Masters in social sciences, statistics, Medicine, public health, Nursing •Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, statistics, Medicine, public health, Nursing or any other related area.
Person Specification
- All training should be from a chattered University
- Ability to implement a quality improvement project from their CAMO-Net site of origin
- Ability to leverage CAMO-Net site’s existing data
- Ready to commit as a full-time CAMO-Net fellow
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, statistical software).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Knowledge of antimicrobial resistance, pharmacology, and institutional quality improvement frameworks is highly desirable.
