Planning for Tomorrow (P4T) is a volunteer-based, non-profit organization started by refugee youths in November 2007 in Kyangwali refugee settlement, Kikuube district, Uganda. It was legally registered in 2013 with Registration number CD/WG/0199/13 and Incorporated with URSB Registration No: 8002002652537 and registered in Norway with Registration No: 926 924 826. P4T works in four thematic areas of Education, Health, Livelihood, and Community Service and Protection. P4T’s mission is to empower communities to be healthy and self-reliant through provision of knowledge and skills. P4T is located in Kasonga Centre, kyangwali Refugee settlement in Kikuube District Uganda.

PURPOSE:
We are looking for an efficient, courteous cashier who possesses excellent customer service skills. The cashier will ensure that prices and quantities are accurate, accept payments, issue receipts, answer inquiries, and provide helpful information to customers’ products, promotions, or item location. You will also respond to complaints, process refunds or exchanges of items, and maintain a clean workspace.
She/he should have a strong work ethic and high level of accuracy. Should be responsible, attentive to customer needs, and committed to providing excellent service.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Welcoming customers, answering their questions, helping them locate items, and providing advice or recommendations.
• Operating scales, cash registers, and other items.
• Balancing the cash register and generating reports for sales.
• Accepting payments, ensuring all prices and quantities are accurate and proving a receipt to every customer.
• Processing refunds and exchanges, resolving complaints.
• Bagging or wrapping purchases to ensure safe transport.
• Following all store procedures regarding the purchase of specific items, such as packing bags, weighing scales and other equipment.
• Maintaining a clean workspace.
• Respond to customer complaints.
• Perform any other duty assigned in relation to the job.

Requirements
• Work experience as a Retail Cashier or in a similar role in sales
• Basic computer knowledge
• Familiarity with finance documents, like cash register
• Good math skills
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Customer satisfaction-oriented
• Minimum of UCE Certificate
