The Engineering Department of Tarkwa Gold Mine seeks to employ an experienced and outstanding individual to fill a Charge Hand – Boilermaker position. The successful applicant will be responsible for identifying problems and advice on remedial action as well as assist in developing effective engineering repair standards and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute daily routine work according to policies and procedures within prescribed guidelines with emphasis on quality and quantity of work output
• Collate inputs from peers  to enhance continuous improvement and also suggest improved ways of performing tasks
• Maintain a comprehensive record/file of applicable standards and procedures
• Provide technical coaching to subordinates towards the achievement of high plant availability and within industry standard by providing service support timeously
• Initiate and sustain cost saving practices within assigned scope of work and assigned Plant projects
• Apply knowledge of standards, methods and procedures to all work situations, planned and urgent
• Ensure that areas of responsibility are maintained to a high standard of good housekeeping

Key Requirements:

• NVTI Certificate in Boiler marking/ Welding Engineering or it’s  equivalent
• Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in plant equipment maintenance
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills as well as ability to interact with people of diverse culture and backgrounds
• Must be able to work with minimum supervision
• Must have a strong foundation in boiler marking/welding engineering maintenance
• Must have a good understanding of boiler marking/welding drives and their maintenance
• Must have a good knowledge of how to interpret engineering drawings
