Duties & Responsibilities
To make use of the grading system to ensure for accuracy.
Responsible for selecting the different types of cheese for the different production lines.
Inspect the cheese for any defects.
If cheese not comply with standards must make use of the WM9 system to book the defect to Reworks.
Ensure correct cheese is allocated to a specific production line.
Must be able to use scanner correctly and according to procedure.
Scan cheese and move it into Pre-Pack.
Must keep record of all the cheese that is not used in order to make sure that only oldest product is used.
Make sure that all the off cuts is sorted by type and then send to the WM9 scale to make sure that it is weighed for the Process Department.
Must be able to handle plus minus 25 Tons of cheese per shift in order to keep production run smoothly.
Responsible to sort the cheese as Mould or Appearance.
Housekeeping are neat on a daily basis.
HACCP: Hygiene in the department and adhere to all Food Safety rules and regulations.
Responsible for waste removal.
Book cheese that was not used back on the system.
Required Skills
Grade 12 or equivalent
NQF3/ Production Technology certificate or equivalent
At least 2 years experiences in a small packaging production area
At least 2 years experiences in the cheese intake area
Must have 3 years experiences within food manufacturing environment
Experience as a checker will prove advantageous
Computer literate
Good interpersonal skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Technical knowledge of small packaging equipment
Able to handle pressure
Motivate subordinates
Able to work long hours, shifts, overtime, weekends and public holidaysAbility to work effectively, independently and co-operate at all levels
Accuracy and punctuality essential
Ability to operate in a very cold environment
