The CEO is the head of the Zanzibar law society Secretariat and is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the secretariat. The CEO is responsible for building and modelling a Great society culture, providing inspired leadership to the executive team, and establishing A great working relationship with the council. She/he is responsible for setting a course for the society’s strategy. building a solid image of the society, and building a network and strategic alliances with other players to ensure the achievement and enhancement of the society’s mission.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversee the day-to-day operation of the secretariat.
• Provide inspired leadership company-wide
• Make high-level decisions about policy and strategy in consultation with the council.
• Create an environment that promotes excellent performance and positive morale of the Secretariat.
• Oversee all operations and business activities to ensure they produce results consistent with the overall strategy and mission.
• Ensuring that the secretariat serves the needs and interests of the ZLS membership according to The ZLS mission statement and the society’s regulations and as directed by council.
• Ensuring that the programs activities and the services of the society directly benefit The members and their professional well-being to this end. the CEO is responsible For
• Identifying member’s problems, issues and needs, developing and operating appropriate Programs and utilizing the necessary resource.
• Building networks, partnership and strategic alliances with other players to ensure the Achievement and enhancement of the organization’s mission.
• Build trust relations with key partners and stakeholders and act as a point of contact for All stakeholders.
• Building a strong corporate image of the organization and maintaining a healthy and Productive relationship with all stakeholders.
• Ensure timely reporting to the council and keep them fully informed of all critical influence Factors affecting the society.
• assist the honorary Secretary in setting the Agenda of council meetings and Recording minutes.
• Execute all decisions of the council on time.
• Overseeing the society’s fiscal activities, including budgeting, reporting and auditing Process for approval of the council.
• Preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly and annual financial and Narrative progress report on the activities and programs of the society to the council.
• Ensure implementation of operational policies and a strategic plan. Regular updating of operating manuals and other regulations to effectively manage the Fundraising and resource Mobilization.,
• Representing the society at various forums such as meetings, workshop and conferences
• Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with law and Regulations.
• Another lawful duty that the council may assign from time to time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Experience in developing profitable strategies and implementing vision. Strong understanding of corporate finance and performance management principles.
• Familiarity with diverse organizational functions such as HR consultation law Marketing, PR finance etc.
• In-depth knowledge of corporate governance and general management best practices. Employee development and performance management skills.
• Ability to develop and deliver presentations.
• Demonstrated ability to fundraise and manage donors
• Demonstrated ability to manage a large corporate oe centralized instutional legal office Successfully.
• Skill in budget preparation and fiscal management.
• Outstanding organizational and leadership skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details.
• Excellent communications and public speaking skills.
• Good analytical skills to research, analyse and interpret complex information and produce clear verbs and written reports.
• Knowledge and Experience of financial responsibility for a budget including knowledge accounting guidelines and of year account and external liaison with auditors.

Qualifications:
• Zanzibari.
• A degree in law, Business Administration, Public Administration or other related fields from a reputable university.
• A master’s degree will be an added advantage.
• Between 25 and 45 years of Age.
• Computer skills: extensive knowledge of Microsoft application/windows office package.
• At least [5] years of experience.
• High Integrity and good character.
