The Chief Financial Officer is a senior level executive who reports to the CEO and provides strategic and operational leadership to the finance team and works with the senior management to achieve the vision and mission of METAD by formulating and executing financially viable strategies and goals.
Main Roles and Responsibilities include:
- Plan, organize, directs, implement, control, and evaluate financial strategies, goals, objectives, and resources of the company.
- Lead the development and implementation of METAD’s financial strategies.
- Develops and implements operational policies, and procedures.
- Ensure financial policies and standards are strictly followed and implemented.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, management, and decision to the finance department.
- Oversee METAD’s business operations, implements business strategies and optimizes resources allocation.
- Ensures that implementation of long, medium- and short-term strategies are properly financed.
- Reorganizes the Finance department to meet the needs of the business.
- Provides strategic leadership to the general accounts, treasury, budget and procurement functions and teams.
- Makes analyses of cash flows and prepares investment proposals.
- Authorizes and approves payments/disbursement/transfers within set limits.
- Leads the development and review of financial accounting, treasury management, budget and procurement policies and procedures including service standards or SLAs.
- Ensures that the METAD’S financial policies and practices comply with relevant laws, standards, and regulations.
- Ensures that proper books of accounts and records are maintained in line with financial policies and procedures.
- Leads the preparation and consolidation of budget, disbursement/transfer of funds, budget variance tracking report and analysis as per set policies and procedures.
- Ensures the management and coordination of all fiscal reporting activities of METAD.
- Ensures the design and placement of an appropriate procurement procedure manual.
- Oversees the overall procurement of items, materials, supplies, good and services.
- Leads the performance management system to ensure best performers are rewarded, LD needs are addressed, and successors are identified.
- Works with the senior management to implement an effective talent development pipeline.
- Creates a positive working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
- Generates periodic financial reports.
- Handles tasks assigned to him/her by the CEO.
Job Requirements
- MA/MBA/ACCA or BA in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 10 years for MBA/MA/ACCA or 12 years for BA of work experience in finance and accounting of which 4 years at a senior management level
