Responsibilities & Duties
Leadership & Strategy
- Identify opportunities and risks for delivering the company’s technology services as a business, including identification of competitive services, opportunities for innovation, and assessment of marketplace trends for the business success
- Build and motivate a world-class high performance technical, and customer support team
- Evaluate and identify appropriate technology platforms (including web application frameworks and the deployment stack) for delivering the company’s services
- Develop a financial plan/budget for technology in the organization
Others
- Own the architecture and development process for delivery of complex systems and configurations in a multi-site environment and all future updates and iterations
- Supervise software testing, and information systems operations and maintenance
- Lead organization in anticipating and reacting to major technology changes
- Lead strategic planning to achieve business goals by identifying and prioritizing development initiatives and setting timetables for the evaluation, development, and deployment of all technology services
- Supervise web application, native mobile application, and software development quality assurance utilizing DevOps
- Oversee Partner and Client integration efforts to the Orange Tech Digital platforms
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices by attending relevant conferences and reading widely (including reading your peers- blogs!)
- Share knowledge, mentor, and educate the organization’s investors, management, staff, partners, customers, and stakeholders with regard to the company’s technological vision, opportunities, and challenges
- Create and maintain high-quality documentation of all relevant specifications, systems, and procedures
- Provide financial planning and budgeting for OrangTech’s technology needs
Competencies:
What specific skills/experiences/accomplishments should you have?
- Master’s in Technology or business administration (MBA) with Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineer/STEM
- Must have 5-10 years prior experience in customer facing product design and engineering focusing on UI/UX
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, management, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
- Strong experience in applying software engineering skills and experiences to automate all aspects of the operational delivery and management process from build/test/deploy, monitoring and alerting, to automatic failover and capacity management
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- A recognized thought leader with established industry presence leading internal and external efforts to promote the vision and adaption of digital technology
- Track record of building innovative, creative, and collaborative teams using DevOps and agile scrum
- Strong experience with POS, mobile money, payments and remittance technologies
- Strong experience with new and emerging digital technologies including machine learning, artificial intelligence, business process automation, robotic process automation, IoT, blockchain and cloud technologies.
