UNICEF Cameroon CO needs a passionate child protection officer, who under the supervision of the Child Protection Specialist will provide professional technical, operational, and administrative assistance throughout the programming process for child protection projects within the Country Programme from development planning to delivery of results. More specifically, the prospective candidate will technically support individual and comprehensive case management, alternative care and/or family tracing and reunification of unaccompanied or separated children, mental health and psychosocial support and life-skills programmes, identification of children in need of birth certificates or reinforcement of access of children to routine registration services and birth catch up services, capacity strengthening of Child protection social workforce from government actors as well as the from Community Based Child Protection Mechanisms (CBCPMs).

Minimum requirements:
- Education: A university degree in one of the following fields is required: international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law, or another relevant social science field
- Work Experience: A minimum of two years of professional experience in social development planning and management in child protection-related areas is required.
- Experience working in a developing country is considered an asset.
- Relevant experience in programme development in child protection-related areas in a UN system agency or organization is considered an asset
- Experience in both development and humanitarian contexts is an added advantage.
- Language Requirements: Fluency in English and basic French is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
