The Civil Engineer will be responsible for providing guidance and advise to AEC on the designs, civil
engineering requirements, quality required of the proposed structures and standards.
Qualifications
a) Applicants should be Ugandans holding at least a Second Class Bachelor’s degree in Civil
Engineering from a recognized and reputable University.
b) The applicant should possess a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management,
Construction Management or a related field.
c) The applicant must be a registered Engineer with the Engineers’ Registration Board (ERB).
d) A Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in the field of Civil Engineering
e) Experience in handling building projects in government entities is an added advantage.
f) Possession of a Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering is an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities
a) Provide technical support in the development of project specifications, including materials,
methods, and structural systems for civil infrastructure projects.
b) Support in the development of terms of reference for the project infrastructure.
c) Analyse and interpret civil components that work in conjunction with structural designs.
d) Conduct site investigations and assessments to determine the feasibility of civil engineering
aspects of the project.
e) Collect and analyze data on ground conditions to inform the development of structural
engineering designs.
f) Assess how site conditions will affect the integrity of both civil and structural elements.
g) Conduct verification checks of civil or structural engineering designs and technical reports
prepared by consultants.
h) Prepare Quarterly Project Progress Reports on civil works
i) Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
