The Communication and Knowledge Manager will work under the direction of the Country Director to promote visibility of NEST360 Program. The Communication and Knowledge Manager will oversee the development and implementation of NEST360 Program communication and knowledge strategies. Will be responsible to generate a wide variety of communication tools and processes, strengthen communication and knowledge sharing, advocate for key SSNC activities and messages and demonstrate NEST Program impact to the public.
The incumbent will in collaboration with the Country Director occasionally liaise with the HQ Communication and Knowledge management team in all communication issues i.e. development of program social media platforms and IEC materials etc.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop a communication protocol and strategy for all communications for the program by engaging a variety of stakeholders;
- Oversee the implementation of the program branding strategy and ensure that all program branding and communication policies are well documented and accessible to staff;
- Ensure that the program maintains high visibility in the media nationally and internationally;
- Maintain a communications calendar with key events, dates and deadline throughout the year;
- Produce content for different audiences and communication channels as well as building relationships with internal and external stakeholders; • Interact and communicate across the NEST360 Program team to gather knowledge acquired during program implementation in order to enhance the innovations within the team for better program delivery;
- Maintain a data base of best practices by the program that is easily accessible by the program team;
- Lead creation of IEC materials, including one-pagers, brochures, presentations, case stories etc., and keep an inventory of all program materials;
- Coordinate the submission of stories for NEST and partner e-newsletters, press, news media etc.;
- Conduct regular monitoring and annual evaluation of communications and knowledge management inputs, outputs and outcomes and adjust the strategy as needed;
- Monitor perception and visibility of the program on a bi-annual basis; • Coordinate the writing of the annual report.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Media Studies, Public relations, Journalism or related field;
- A minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in a non-profit and non-governmental setting;
- Good stakeholder engagement skills;
- Excellent creative writing and communication skills (writing, presenting, listening);
- Experience managing websites and social media. WordPress experience preferred;
- Experience with webinars and online learning platforms (Zoom, WebEx preferred);
- Experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat and Premiere). Graphic design experience a plus; • Photography and video production skills preferred;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Ability to work with little or no supervision in a very fast-paced/deadline driven environment;
- Ability to travel extensively in country.
