 The Healthcare System Impact Syndicate Africa (ACSIS) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to improving healthcare access and quality for Ethiopia’s most vulnerable populations.

We achieve this through innovation, community engagement, behavior change initiatives, and strengthening service delivery systems.

As part of our team, you’ll play a vital role in amplifying our impact and empowering communities. About the Role:

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Communications’ officer to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your communication skills while contributing to a cause that truly makes a difference. Responsibilities:

– – Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy for current and future projects, ensuring alignment with ACSIS’s overall goals.

– Craft compelling narratives that effectively tell the stories of the communities and women ACSIS serves. – Identify and select women whose stories of achievement and challenges will be showcased.

– Conduct interviews with these women to gather detailed information about their experiences.

– Develop a narrative arc for each story that highlights both the challenges faced and the achievements accomplished.

– Write scripts for short video stories based on the interviews and collected information when needed.

– Provide direction on the types of shots needed to best illustrate the stories.

– Ensure photos capture both the personal and environmental context of the women’s stories.

– Review and select the most impactful photos for publication. o Coordinate with videographers to shoot interviews, b-roll footage, and any other necessary content.

– Oversee the editing process to ensure the videos are engaging, emotionally compelling, and aligned with the organization’s message.

– Ensure all video content is accessible, including subtitles or translations if necessary.

– Manage and curate engaging content across our social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Twitter, etc.), fostering audience growth and raising awareness.

– Produce multimedia content including educational and entertaining videos that showcase ACSIS’s work, its impact, and the realities of healthcare in the communities we serve Plan and coordinate events that generate awareness about ACSIS initiatives and engage the community.

– Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to support ACSIS’s organizational goals.

– Research and monitor industry trends in communication and social media to stay ahead of the curve. – Assist with media relations by drafting press releases and responding to media inquiries.

– Maintain and update ACSIS’s website content to ensure clarity and accurate communication About You Qualifications and Requirements:

– Educational background:

Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field. Health professionals with a background in communication are highly preferred.

Experience:

2+ years of experience in communication, marketing, social media management, or a similar role is desired. Fresh graduates may also apply (mention any freelance, internship or volunteer activities related with the position you have participated in).

– Technical Skills: Proficiency in design tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and other digital content creation platforms. – Communication Skills: Strong written, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to tailor content for diverse audiences.

Languages:

Fluency in English and Amharic; proficiency in Oromo is a valuable asset.

– Personal Qualities: Passion for storytelling and sharing women’s stories, improving the Ethiopian healthcare system, empowering communities, and a strong sense of social responsibility.
