Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Communications Analyst and overall guidance of the Resident Representative, the intern will perform the following functions:
- Graphic Design
- Create visually engaging materials such as infographics, banners, reports, and presentations.
- Design digital products, including social media graphics, newsletters, and web assets, following UNDP branding guidelines.
- Develop and maintain templates for recurring communications needs.
- Social Media Content Support
- Design and schedule creative, high-quality visuals for social media posts and campaigns.
- Collaborate with the communications team to align designs with campaign goals.
- Monitor trends in social media design to propose fresh and innovative content ideas.
- Digital Communications Product Development
- Assist in producing layouts for digital publications, ensuring accessibility and user-friendliness.
- Provide design support for event toolkits, promotional materials, and other digital resources.
- Administrative Support and Asset Management
- Organize and maintain a digital library of design assets, including templates, icons, and imagery.
- Assist in procurement processes for external design services or tools.
- Learning and Development
- Increase understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and UNDP’s mandate.
- Share design knowledge with the team and contribute to capacity-building initiatives.
Competencies
- Core Competencies
- Excellent written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Knowledge of Canva or other web-based design platforms is an advantage.
- Functional Competencies
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Aesthetic sense and attention to detail in design.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and an understanding of digital trends.

Required Skills and Experience
Education
Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:
- Be currently enrolled in or have graduated with a degree in Graphic Design, Brand or Digital Communications, Digital Marketing, or related fields.
Experience:
- Prior experience in graphic design or creating social media content is mandatory.
Internship Conditions
- Duration 6 months with no possibility of extension.
- Interns will receive a monthly stipend.
- Interns are responsible for securing adequate medical insurance for the duration of their internship with UNDP and must provide a medical certificate of good health prior to starting the internship.
- UNDP accepts no responsibility for loss or damage to personal effects that may occur during the internship.
- The intern must provide proof of enrolment in a health insurance plan or a public health clinic card/certificate.
- The purpose of the Internship Programme is not to lead to further employment with UNDP but to complement an intern’s studies. Therefore, there should be no expectation of employment at the end of an internship.
