Key Responsibilities:
The Communications Officer will play a vital role in enhancing the visibility and public
engagement of FOWODE. The successful candidate will:
Work with the team to implement FOWODE’s Communication Strategy.
Keep abreast of latest tools and trends and participate in strategizing for streamlined
execution of communication on all media platforms & publications.
Collect, synthesize, store, document, and regularly disseminate information relevant to
FOWODE’s mission and programs, ensuring stakeholders are well-informed.
Ensure that FOWODE’s website and social media pages are vibrant, up-to-date, and
effectively communicate the organization’s activities and achievements.
Ensure the organization’s branding is consistent and of high quality across all materials
and platforms, maintaining a strong and recognizable corporate identity.
Participate in developing IEC materials and visual communications.
Qualifications and Key Skills Required:
1. Must posses strictly one of the following qualifications: Bachelor of Mass
Communication; Journalism, Public Relations and Media Studies.
2. Postgraduate Diploma in Communication /Journalism/ Public Relations is an added
advantage.
3. At least 3 years’ experience in a similar communications role, preferably within an NGO
4. Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
5. Proficiency in social media management and digital marketing tools.
6. Design and publication skills especially interfacing with Adobe Design tools and Canva
will be an added advantage.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
8. Experience in collecting, synthesizing, storing, documenting and dissemination of
information.
