RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop engaging and informative content for various communication channels,
including press releases, newsletters, social media, and the university’s website
• Collaborate with different departments to gather information and create compelling
stories that showcase the university’s achievements, events, and milestones.
• Cultivate relationships with media outlets to secure positive coverage for the university.
• Prepare and distribute press releases and media kits, and coordinate media inquiries
and interviews.
• Oversee the university’s social media presence, ensuring consistent messaging and
brand representation.
• Monitor social media platforms for trends, engagement, and potential issues, and
respond appropriately.
• Coordinate the promotion of university events through various channels to maximize
attendance and engagement.
• Work closely with event organizers to create promotional materials and campaigns.
• Develop and implement internal communication strategies to keep staff, faculty, and
students informed about university news, policies, and events.
• Facilitate communication between different departments and promote a cohesive
organizational culture.
• Uphold and enhance the university’s brand by ensuring consistency in messaging and
visual representation across all communication channels.
• Monitor and address any instances of brand misrepresentation or misuse.
• Perform any other duties as assigned from relevant authorities.
Qualifications, Experience, Skills, and Abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Public Relations, Media for Development Studies,
Journalism, or a related field from University of repute.
• Proven three (3) years in communications, public relations, or a similar role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong understanding of social media platforms and experience managing social media
accounts for organizations.
• Demonstrated ability to create compelling content for different audiences and channels.
• Experience in media relations, including drafting press releases and managing media
inquiries.
• Knowledge of brand management principles and the ability to uphold and enhance the
university’s brand.
• Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
