Nwoya Charity Foundation (NCF) is a registered charity non-governmental organization based in Uganda. Founded in 2019, NCF aims to give hope to orphans, women, and youth facing extreme poverty, exploitation, and abuse. The organization empowers and supports vulnerable persons through poverty relief, educational support, and health services, helping them become self-sustaining, contributing members of society. Each year, NCF serves over 2,000 individuals in Northern Uganda, providing opportunities to learn new skills, start businesses, access quality education, and improve health conditions.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and proactive Communication Volunteer to support our outreach, storytelling, and content development efforts. This role is ideal for individuals who are creative, digitally savvy, and committed to amplifying the voices and impact of our organization. The volunteer will play a key role in enhancing our visibility across digital platforms, engaging stakeholders, and sharing our mission with broader audiences.
Role Description
This is an on-site contract role for a Communication Volunteer located in Kampala. The Communication Volunteer will be responsible for:
- Assist in the creation and scheduling of content for social media, newsletters, and websites
- Draft engaging blog posts, success stories, and press releases
- Support in editing and formatting organizational materials (reports, brochures, etc.)
- Monitor media mentions and assist in press outreach when needed
- Design basic graphics using tools like Canva, and other Adobe software
- Help maintain and update the organization’s photo and media library
- Contribute to communications strategy and calendar planning
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, LinkedIn)
- Experience with content creation, writing, or digital storytelling
- Basic graphic design or video editing skills are a plus
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to meet deadlines
- Passion for charity and working with the most vulnerable persons in the program area.
