Job description

First deliverable
• Design and produce accessible and innovative sensitization tools in English and Ewe on financial
literacy and entrepreneurship to support CSOs in their activities to help women traders to increase
their income and improve their livelihood; to the extent possible, the tools should be designed in
collaboration with women traders and local partners to avoid duplication and address identified needs.
Second deliverable
• Design and produce innovative sensitization training material in English and Ewe to increase the
knowledge of women SSCBT on entrepreneurship, financial inclusion and their rights/obligations; to
the extent possible, the material should be designed in collaboration with women traders and local
partners to avoid duplication and address identified needs.
Third Deliverable
• Design, organize and deliver a workshop in English and Ewe to train CSOs on the use of the sensitization
tools to strengthen the awareness of women traders on financial literacy and entrepreneurship.

Fourth deliverable
• Design, organize and deliver a workshop in English and Ewe for Women SSCBT to increase their
knowledge of entrepreneurship, financial inclusion and their rights/obligations.

The workshop will have to be delivered at the Aflao border in Ghana.
3. Education, Experience and/or skills required
• Advanced University degree in Trade, Migration Studies, Development Studies, Economics, International
Relations, Communication, Law, or a related field;
• A minimum of seven years of experience in the field of trade, development, migration, or a related field, with a demonstrable experience in informal cross-border trade;
• Experience and knowledge of the gender dynamics of trade;
• Experience leading the development and roll-out of capacity building programmes for civil society in
both English and Ewe;
• Good oral communication and writing skills in both English and Ewe;
• Fluency in English and Ewe is required;
• Strong organizational skills;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Knowledge of the socio-economic, cultural and political context of Ghana is an advantage;
• Knowledge of the labour migration context in West and Central Africa is an advantage.

Travel to the Aflao border crossing point will be required for this consultancy.
