Job description

Habitat for Humanity International, generally referred to as Habitat for Humanity or simply Habitat, is an international, non-governmental, and nonprofit organization, which was founded in 1976.

The consultant will:

    • Conduct a pre-retreat assessment through interviews, surveys, or focus group discussions to understand key challenges and needs.
    • Design and facilitate an interactive team retreat that includes:
    • Leadership development sessions for SMT and staff
    • Communication and collaboration workshops
    • Accountability and responsibility frameworks
    • HFH values alignment sessions
    • Addressing leadership transitions and change management
    • Provide individual and group coaching where necessary.
    • Develop a post-retreat action plan with clear recommendations to ensure sustainable change.
    • Submit a final report summarizing key observations, recommendations, and an implementation roadmap.

Deliverables

  • Pre-retreat assessment report highlighting key team challenges and areas for improvement.
  • Customized retreat agenda and facilitation plan.
  • Delivery of a structured two-day engagement on 19th and 20th March 2025.
  • Post-retreat report including observations, recommendations, and an action plan for continued team development.

Consultant’s Qualifications and Experience

The ideal consultant should have:

  • A proven track record in organizational development, leadership coaching, or team building.
  • Experience facilitating retreats or workshops for teams facing similar challenges.
  • Strong knowledge of change management and strategic alignment.
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with non-profits or international development organizations is an added advantage.

 Duration and Timeline

  • The initial engagement will take place over two days (19th and 20th March 2025), with the potential for a longer-term assignment based on outcomes.
  • A pre-retreat assessment and planning phase will take place before the engagement.
  • Exact dates for post-retreat follow-up will be determined in consultation with HFH Kenya.

Interested consultants or firms should submit the following to

  • A brief proposal detailing their approach to the retreat, methodology, and proposed timeline.
  • CV(s) of lead facilitator(s) and relevant experience.
  • Budget proposal including consultant fees and any logistical costs.
  • At least two references from similar past assignments.
