Job description

Reporting to the Lead – Contracts and Procurement, you will be responsible for leading the development, negotiation, and management of contracts for Civil, Piping, and Welding (CP & W) packages. The successful candidate will ensure that contracts are aligned with business objectives, compliant with regulatory requirements, and managed to minimize risks and maximize benefits.

Your duties will include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Develop, review, and negotiate contracts for CP & W packages, ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
  • Manage contracts throughout their lifecycle, including contract administration, performance monitoring, and dispute resolution.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with contracts, ensuring that risks are properly allocated and managed.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and suppliers, to ensure that contracts meet business requirements and are aligned with project objectives.
  • Ensure that contracts are properly closed out, including the completion of all contractual obligations, the resolution of any disputes, and the documentation of lessons learned.
  • Provide regular contract reports to stakeholders, including contract status, performance metrics, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure that contracts comply with regulatory requirements, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Manage supplier relationships, including contract negotiation, performance monitoring, and dispute resolution.

   To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 certificate
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Procurement Management
  • Minimum of ten (10 years) in Warehouse management and supply, preferably in the mining environment.
  • Excellent contract management, negotiation, and administration skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in contract management software (SAP).
  • Experience in managing costs and budgeting
  • Member of the Zambia Institute of Purchasing and Supply (ZIPS)
  • Be physically fit and be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination.
