Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Social Work and Social Administration,
Medicine, Nursing, Public Health, or related fields. A certificate in Social Medicine is an
added advantage

Due Diligence:
This is a full-time position. Almost all duties stipulated under this position can be
accomplished by working remotely. A successful candidate will not be expected to leave their
district of residence in order to assume responsibilities for this position nor accumulate office
hours in a physical space. However, residence in Uganda is a MUST. Where appropriate,
there will be occasional travels within Uganda or outside Uganda.

Roles and responsibilities:
❖ Coordinate activities under SocMed Global Uganda with members and leadership to
develop, expand, and deepen the programs of the organization.
❖ Coordinate the SocMed Global Uganda weekly/monthly team members’ meetings and
institute follow-up on action plans.
❖ Streamlining organisational structures and operations
❖ Identify, curate, and apply for grants that support the mission and growth of SocMed
Global Uganda.
❖ In liaison with SocMed Global Alumni and partners, organize a fundraising strategy
that maximizes individual donations.
❖ Provide logistical support (regular communication with admitted students;
coordinating travel plans during field visits, organizing printing of course reader,
student housing, etc)
❖ Keep students updated on timelines and schedules throughout the course
❖ Monitor and Moderate students’ online discussions through the Canvas platform or
any other platform that is user-friendly and adopted by the teaching team as an
alternative means of communication.
❖ Support students through clinical clerkship using a narrative medicine lens and join
students’ discussion groups.
❖ Work in collaboration with the teaching team to evaluate the course and arrange
pre-course interviews.
❖ Arranging course speakers and developing relationships with potential new course
speakers and clinicians.
❖ Organize calendar schedules for the course activities and host class online sessions on
the Zoom platform.
❖ Serving as liaison with Ugandan university students in Gulu, Mbarara, Makerere, and
Kabale, among others.
