Job description

Responsibilities:

  • Adapt and exemplify IJM’s culture and core values;
  • Develop compelling written and audio-visual contents for storytelling and campaigns for IJM Ghana office and headquarters;
  • Enhance IJM’s visibility on Facebook, YouTube, X and Instagram by directing traffic to these platforms on a consistent basis;
  • Develop a bank of compelling images and videos for IJM’s work;
  • Identify compelling client stories and develop written and audio-visual contents for national and international campaigns;
  • Develop a bank of engaging contents for IJM’s online platforms;
  • Undertake photography and videography projects on key IJM events and projects;
  • Work closely with Regional Communications Manager in developing stories;
  • Work closely with other members of the communications team to undertake mass media campaigns and pitches;
  • Ensure that all IJM Ghana’s communication materials align with Global Comms and Brand guidelines;
  • Ensure that IJM staff are compliant to Global Communication and Brand Guidelines;
  • Train IJM field staff on basic photography skills;
  • Train new hires on Global Communication and Brand Guidelines; and
  • Undertake any other task as may be directed by the National Director of Advocacy and Partnerships or the Director, West Africa.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from an accredited university;
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field;
  • Proficiency in capturing and editing images and videos professionally;
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint;
  • Exceptional skills in digital communication and marketing;
  • Strong interviewing skills and ability to write compelling client stories;
  • Proven ability to work effectively in teams and cross-cultural environments;
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships; and
  • Legal rights to work in Ghana.

  • Mature Christian faith as defined by the Apostles’ Creed;
  • Team player who is teachable and open to feedback;
  • Highly organised and time-conscious; and
  • Professional demeanour.
