The Sustainable Urban Development/Transport Project Manager is also responsible for identifying new projects in the sectors that concern him/her. Several projects are currently being identified, including a light mobility project in Kumasi.
Your main missions are therefore:
1. For Ghana and Liberia, to monitor projects in progress in the sustainable urban development/transport sector in conjunction with the geographic, technical and legal departments of the headquarters as well as with local partners and project owners;
2. to participate in the implementation of technical cooperation programs or actions;
3. to monitor procurement and implement disbursements;
4. to organize and support project supervision and monitoring missions;
5. to contribute directly to operational and institutional communication on the sectors covered, on behalf of the AFD and within the France team in Ghana;
6. to participate in the evaluation of AFD projects in the sectors concerned;
7. to be the referent on 2 to 3 cross-cutting themes.
You contribute to the identification and instruction of new operations to be financed in the “sustainable urban development/transport” sector:
1. Participate in prospecting/origination, identification, development of feasibility studies and implementation of new projects;
2. Ensure sectoral monitoring, monitor national policies and contribute to the definition of the sectoral intervention strategy;
3. Take part in sectoral dialogues and working groups in conjunction with local authorities, other donors, and NGOs and companies in the sector;
4. Represent the AFD vis-à-vis national authorities, service providers and other technical and financial partners.
