Hashtag Gulu Initiative is a youth-focused and youth-led indigenous nonprofit organization that
supports children and youths who live or work on the streets. Our mission is centred on
rehabilitation, reformation, and reintegration.
We envision a community where individuals take responsibility for each other’s well-being and
contribute to creating an inclusive and peaceful society. Hashtag Gulu Initiative provides
alternatives to crime and violence through mentoring street-connected children and youths to
become productive citizens. By collaborating with parents, we address the root causes of the
challenges faced by these individuals rather than relying on unsubstantiated assumptions.
