Responsibilities
- Coordinate with the Chief of Party on a regular basis to discuss operations, field activities, successes, and potential issues and risks; participate in regular planning processes.
- Address priorities related to improving household access to diverse and quality food, and improving nutrition-related behaviors, as well as the capacity of local food systems actors to meet these needs.
- Contribute to the cross-cutting goals of the program.
- Provide technical leadership and oversight for nutrition-focused initiatives.
- Nurture and manage relationships with key public and private partners. Work closely with partner teams to ensure assigned activities are completed on time.
- Ensure effective cooperative agreement management, reporting, communications and relationship management with USAID. Ensure quality control and timeliness of all deliverables.
- Assist in preparation of periodic written and oral reports work plans, financial, logistical, and other documents to USAID and ACDI/VOCA Headquarters. Review of all financial and logistical information on a periodic basis.
- Monitor ongoing grants and attend events related to grant activities.
- Facilitate the development of a robust learning culture within the technical team, adopting an adaptive management style and providing regular opportunities for the team to capture and process learning from implementation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, food sciences, food systems, agribusiness, or other relevant field is required; master’s degree is desired.
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in food processing and added value, nutrition, food systems, food safety, and/or agribusiness development, including management experience.
- Successful track record of leadership on USAID or other U.S. Government-funded projects preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working in Ghana required.
- Fluency in English is required.
