duty and responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of Protection Manager, the Protection Assistant Manager has the overall responsibility of monitoring the daily spray programs and an intense follow-up of all spraying workers.

Detailed responsibilities and Tasks:

  • The essential function of this position includes, but is not limited to:
  • Assist the protection manager & Manage Knapsack Spraying.
  • Supervise Full Block Spraying as per the immediate supervisor direction
  • Arrange timely and accurately pest prevention and pest control measures
  • Manage the PPE & health & safety Issues
  • Ensuring that the spray equipment are in good condition.
  • Supervising and ensuring that mixing of the chemicals is done at the recommended rates and pumped to blocks where spraying is taking place.
  • Keeping of spray records and maintenance of spraying equipment.
  • Manage all personnel, all processes and all programs associated with Scouting, Spraying.
  • Ensure proper Pest Management by IPM applications & the spray teams
  • Evaluation & follow up of every spray efficacy.
  • Applying, recording and monitoring biological controls
  • Maintain records of pesticide applications.
  • Any other duties that may be assigned to you by the Management from time to time.

Supervising Department: – Production Department

Job Requirements

EDUCATION:

  • Degree/Msc in horticulture or any other related field.
  • Ample experience in flower farming would be an asset.

SKILLS:

  • Proven leadership skills in farming.
  • Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation of human power.
  • Good management and communication skill.
  • Demonstrated analytical knowledge.
  • Able and willing to work under stress environment and should perform tasks independently.

LANGUAGES:

  • Fluent in Amharic.
  • Knowing additional local language will have an advantage
