As a Data Analyst & Scientist in the Fintech institution, you will play a pivotal role in extracting actionable insights from complex financial data sets. Your responsibilities will include analysing data, developing statistical models, and contributing to data-driven decision-making processes. The successful candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, advanced technical skills, and a deep understanding of the financial domain.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collect, clean, and pre-process large volumes of financial data from various sources.
  • Develop automated processes for data extraction and integration.
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and outliers.
  • Utilize statistical methods to extract meaningful insights from financial datasets.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and provide analytical support.
  • Build predictive models to assess financial risk, fraud detection, and customer behaviour.
  • Implement machine learning algorithms to optimize financial processes and enhance decision-making.
  • Evaluate model performance and iterate based on feedback and changing business requirements.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
  • Experience in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like R and Python.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Prior experience in a similar role within the fintech or financial services industry is preferred.
  • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau).
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts, including risk management, financial modelling, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex findings to diverse audiences.
