This position will be responsible for supporting activities related to the collation, analysis and dissemination/reporting of AMR/AMU/AMC surveillance data in a one-health approach. The responsibilities of the position are as follows:
Provide technical assistance to the AMR secretariat of the Ministry of Health of Ghana in the collation, analysis and sharing/dissemination of AMR/AMC/AMU data in a One-Health approach
Organize data review, data analysis and visualization for AMR/AMC/AMU at the national level.
Provide technical assistance to prepare and submit AMC/AMR/AMU-related data and reports as per the national, regional, and global standards.
Share the findings including AMC/ AMR/AMU trends to national stakeholders and AMR/AMU TWG quarterly and annually.
Any other activity assigned by the AMR Secretariat.
Required Qualifications
Education
Essential:
A university degree in Pharmacy, Microbiology, Veterinary science, Environmental science or any related fied. A postgraduate degree in public health and/or infectious disease epidemiology, and antimicrobial resistance is highly advantageous. An additional certificate in data science or analysis is strongly preferred.
Experience
Essential: At least 3 years of experience, with increased responsibilities in antimicrobial resistance surveillance systems. Experience with the management, organization and quality assurance of large data sets and development of surveillance systems, including laboratory, training programmes, use of web-based data collection.
Experience with laboratory standards on AMR is highly desirable.
Skills
- Familiar with standard statistical methods/tools in research and with quantitative and qualitative research methods.
- Experience of data analysis/Biostatistics
- Experiences on AMR/AMU surveillance, and Laboratory Information System (LIS)/ Hospital Information System (HIS) is an advantage.
- Strong negotiation, coordination, communication and interpersonal skills
- Computer proficiency in word processing, databases and spreadsheets, with advanced skills in WHONET and at least two of the following programs: GIS, SPSS, Epi Info, Stata, SAS, MS Excel and MS Access
- Strong English language and report writing skills.
