Purpose

The jobholder will be responsible for ownership of enterprise data strategy and governance, road map, initiatives, solutions, and cross-business unit collaboration as well as have the responsibility to ensure the strategy is implemented and championing a data driven culture across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

• Define and execute group data management strategy and ensure alignment of business, IT, and data architectures and ensure the continuous delivery and operation of integrated data operations and administrative information systems.
• Direct the group-wide data management technology strategy, to include information access and retrieval, aggregation, and data warehousing technologies.
• Formulate strategic partnerships with different business units and functions to communicate the data management vision, goals, and objectives and obtain buy-in at all levels of the company.
• Carry out the management and administration of the Enterprise Data Management function and leverage the organization’s data and information assets.
• Develop a road map for data in alignment with all stakeholders.
• Responsible for overall corporate data strategy, including leading data chapters, defining, and ensuring adherence to data quality and integrity standards and policies collaboratively with the IT organization.
• Manage overall data architecture and manage, develops, prioritize, and recommend initiatives to improve and build upon the data architecture to support the business.
• Accountable for cross-business data standards, data management processes and all related data technology to include data warehouses and business intelligence applications.
• Ensure consistency of processes and champion best practices in data management.
• Stay abreast of industry and regulatory developments impacting company-wide data and related technology and operations.
• Interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders to promote leading practices with respect to the management, protection, and application of information.
• Ensure Uptime of all systems under the umbrella as per SLA.
• Comprehend and propagate Bank and ICT strategies and initiatives to all team members.
• Promote and instill agile practices and collaborative cohesion amongst team members.
• Formulate, documents and maintain a service catalogue / Inventory of all data & analytics systems.
• Manage grow and motivate direct reports within the data team.

Person Specifications

• A Bachelor’s degree in any or more of the specializations Information management, statistics, data sciences or related quantitative fields.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing and supporting Data & Analytics services in a banking environment.
• Exposure to application support model & emerging technologies across diverse platforms.
• Good understanding of banking applications, services, standards and best practices.
• Data Management Knowledge: Data Architecture Management, Data Development, Data Operations Management, Data Security Management, Reference & Master Data Management, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, Document & Content Management, Meta-data Management, Data Quality Management.
• Information management, statistics, data sciences or related quantitative fields.
• Good understanding of Oracle PL / SQL Server, Programming Languages (Java, C++,C#,.net ,java, JavaScript, PL-SQL, Python, XML,JSON), Web Technologies (J2EE, IIS, Apache, AWS)
