Overall, Purpose
As Data and Analytics Lead, the incumbent develops and maintains an integrated Business Intelligence and Reporting platform that enables a centralised and secure view of all SHAL’s data for informed decision-making. This role promotes high-quality data-driven decisions by employing process modelling and analysis techniques on a converged data source to convert insights into strategic opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Design and maintain a common data model or data source that will host all decision-making data for the group.
• Develop ICT systems, Applications, Workflows, and systems integrations as identified by the business. Provider technical leadership on Systems Development projects following recognised
SDLC methodologies
• Maintain data sources and perform system updates as necessary to ensure accuracy and integrity of data.
• Analyse and Communicate the results of data analysis and track key performance metrics in support of business goals
• Participate in the full software development life cycle, from concept and design to testing, deployment and maintenance.
• Gather requirements from business users and translate them into technical specifications.
Design, code, test and document new features and functionality in SAP applications.
Maintain and enhance data platforms databases and tools (e.g. SQL, Python, R, Tableau, etc)
• Participate in peer reviews of code and design.
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or Information Technology or Data Analytics
• A qualification in Finance or a business operations discipline is an added advantage
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar languages.
• At least 2 years’ experience in IT service provision, ERP support, Project Management, or Systems
• Development focused on Data Analysis.
Experience in a management or supervisory role and experience in the food manufacturing industry with direct involvement in systems support is an advantage.
