The Director, Institutional Advancement Directorate shall, under the ViceChancellor, be responsible for the implementation of the mandate of the
Institutional Advancement Directorate.
The Director, shall, among others, be responsible for developing and enhancing
strong relations with the University of Ghana alumni, industry and the business community as well as marketing the University.
The Director has the primary responsibility for formulating and implementing strategies to enhance the University’s ability to source funds for its developmental goals. The Director has the mandate to develop strategies for raising funds,
promotion of institutional growth, promotion of goodwill with stakeholders and promotion of a good image for the University of Ghana.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful applicant will be required to:
a. Engage in the promotion of the good and goodwill of the University in collaboration with the Public Affairs Directorate;
b. Engage in significant fundraising and promote strategic partnerships for the
institutional growth of the University:
Support the establishments of the University to realise their fundraising and strategic partnership goals and objectives;
d. Establish and maintain strategic relations with alumni of the University in collaboration with the Public Affairs Directorate;
e. Develop business strategies to support implementation of the UG Strategic
Plan and provide inputs for development of future strategic plans;
f. Develop strategies for maximizing donor support to UG;
g. Serve on relevant committees of the University.
QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES
The successful candidate must:
a. have a good first degree as well as an advanced degree, with not less than
10 years’ cumulative, progressively responsible experience at management
level, preferably in an institution of higher education.
b. In addition, the applicant must have:
i. Considerable strategic, interpersonal and collegial skills that will enable
him/her to function within the Higher Education Sector;
ii. Good business sense with a deep understanding and appreciation of the
strategic and operational issues in top-level University management and
administration;
iii. High-level analytical skills and demonstrable evidence of competence and leadership.
SALARY
Attractive with fringe benefits including market premium, rent, security and
responsibility allowance.
TENURE
The Director must be able to hold office for a period of four years on terms and
conditions recommended by the Appointments Board, before reaching the
statutory retirement age of 60 years, and may be eligible for re-appointment for a
further term of up to four year
