Director, Membership Development and Service Delivery, leads implementation of the Confederation’s strategic direction in the areas of membership, events, communication, and revenue growth. She/he will have responsibility over the entire cycle of recruitment of new members, retention of existing members, promotion of membership categories upgrades among existing members, sourcing referrals and generating leads which are transformed into new members and growth of the base of services provided by the Confederation.
Roles and Responsibilities
a) Develop and oversee implementation of strategies for membership recruitment and retention, business linkages, events and communication.
b) Conduct independent research, attend trade conferences and seminars, and other business-related events to generate new leads and to sustain existing membership relations.
c) Conduct analyses of current membership database to understand and uncover business needs, trends and opportunities.
d) Closely monitor industry and market trends and local issues impacting membership growth and develop appropriate strategies to overcome any challenges and take advantage of emerging opportunities.
e) Meet and build relationships with decision-makers through presentations and discussions of business trends and the Confederation’s services, benefits and programs that present business opportunities.
f) Review and recommend changes in membership benefits in line with emerging needs and challenges.
g) Coordinate the Confederation’s external communications, dissemination of information to members, and maintenance of the website.
h) Coordinate successful convening of quarterly Regional Chapter meetings in terms of attendance and organization in all the regions.
Qualifications, Competences and Personal Attributes:
a) An advanced university Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field, with at least 10 years management level experience.
b) Ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
c) Ability to build relationships with customers/members and other stakeholders.
d) Ability to be self-sufficient, independent and resourceful.
e) Solid organizational skills.
f) A high level of enthusiasm and interest that, in turn, motivates others.
