The position exists to provide overall leadership to the Human Resources and Administration divisional development, planning and implementation.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS
- A holder of a bachelor’s degree in either Human Resources Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or equivalent and a Master’s degree in Human resources management, Public Administration, Business Administration, or any related field obtained from a reputable learning institution accredited by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE).
- Must have ten (10) years post-graduation experience, of which five years should be at a senior management level in a related field.
- Should be mature and have a demonstrable ability to work as a team leader.
- Should have a thorough understanding of Malawi Labour Laws
- Be decisive, self-motivated, and assertive with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- A team player, results-oriented and of high integrity.
- Have good leadership skills and excellent team-building and negotiation skills.
- Have excellent gender management and mainstreaming skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Reporting to the Executive Director, the job holder will, among other responsibilities, be responsible for:
- Developing, reviewing and monitoring the implementation of corporate policies, strategies, plans and budgets related to human resources, administration, hospitality, ICT, procurement, maintenance and security services.
- Establishing high-level credibility and strong working relationships among staff and other stakeholders.
- Enhancing financial, human resource, administration, ICT and procurement systems.
- Analysing periodic consolidated reports and recommending appropriate interventions to Management and the Board of Directors.
- Leading in risk management, corporate governance processes and facilitating internal and external audit exercises
- Taking ultimate responsibility for the Institute’s cash management policies regarding capital requirements, debt, equity, disposals and acquisitions.
- Allocating work and appraising staff
- Developing and monitoring resource mobilisation strategies
- Preparing regular reports
- Carrying out any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
