Draftsman responsible to create drawings and plans that are used in manufacturing and construction, using both manual drawings and computer-based applications, such as computer-assisted drafting, the drafter creates two-and three-dimensional renderings of the finished project. Once drafts have been completed, the responsible engineers review them and decide on necessary changes to be effected and approve final drawings. Work as part of the Preventive and planning team to provide engineering draughting services. Maintain the drawing catalogue for the plant ensuring all drawings are accurate.

• Ensure good working conditions and safety standards are maintained
• Ensure the permit to work system and any other safety system (Hot Work,
• Confined Space, Work at Height, lifting, slinging and rigging etc) are strictly adhered to.
• Assess risks, carry out Risk Analysis and plan corrective actions as and when required.
• Take responsibility for self and co-workers to strictly adhere to the policies, procedures and instructions set for the organization.

Activities

• Liaise with engineers or if required with architect to gather product and structural requirements and designs
• Calculate dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials
• Prepare and review rough sketches and review them along with the engineering team
• Create detailed designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software, for approval & signing off by responsible Engineer,
• Provide drawing services, for approval & signing off by responsible Engineer, including site measurement of components and the production of detailed drawings for manufacture team.
• Design diagrams, maps and layouts to illustrate workflow
• Identify potential operational issues and redesign products to improve functionality
• Ensure final designs comply with regulations and quality standards
• Create manuals that describe existing products’ operation, features and maintenance
• Maintain and control the drawing catalogues and databases
• Ensure site draws are updated, provide revisions of drawings for the complete site including buildings and services.
• Ensure all drawings, modifications to design, measurements & calculations are signed off & approved by responsible Engineer.
• Liaise with and advise procurement function as and when required.
  Inspect engineering components delivered to store as and when required.

Job Requirements

Education

• BSc in Engineering, Architecture or degree from a technical college
• Mechanical/Civil Engineering
• Design: Mechanical
• 3D Modeling

Knowledge and specific Experience

• Proven work experience as a Drafter or similar role 3- 5 years of experience in the same position.
• Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software
• Ability to meet deadlines
